From a state where the shirt fully covered the body, to a state where twenty percent of both arms is released. This much motion alone rewrites the impression of a person. A woman in dress coded as masculine, the white coat, suit, or dress shirt, rolling up her sleeves carries a distinct force as a crossing of gender signs. In designs of the working woman, the female doctor, the prosecutor, the researcher, the rolled sleeve is frequently drawn as a gesture reinforcing the intelligent, capable, cool attributes.

The forearm as a part

At the root of the kink lies the appeal of the forearm itself (elbow to wrist), a part where bone, tendon, and vein run densely just beneath the skin, so that fine changes appear on the surface with each movement. Gripping, extending the fingers, applying grip strength, turning the wrist, the forearm muscles move in real time and the subcutaneous veins rise and fall.
